Oxnard—In their Tuesday, February 4, report, Council Woman Michaela Perez said that the residents care about protecting community members based on the turnout at the meeting and demonstrations through the weekend.
"YOUTH always lead movements; Oxnard’s Youth shared their voice and needed to share their voice throughout,” she said. “Our residents share their concerns with the immigrant population.”
Council Member Bert Perello said Clark Owens has served with the Senior’s Commission for eight years.
“He’s been extremely instrumental in getting a new Senior Center at Patterson and Fifth Street,” Perello said. “He’s been involved with the ORCA’s, donation drives, and lots of stuff. It’s stalled because of their litigation against the City of Oxnard about the bonds or because they would move forward.”
Mayor Pro Tem Gabe Teran attended the South Bank Neighborhood Council meeting with Perello, which discussed SCR Three in their neighborhood.
“You’ll see active construction happening along Ventura Road,” Teran said. “Go to the City’s website, social media, and the County’s Public Works website to find information.”
He said Riverpark’s next budget meeting is Friday, February 5, followed by its neighborhood council meeting.
