Ventura—The Board of Supervisors, on Tuesday, May 19, celebrated National Public Works Week and invited Director Greg Straka to speak at the celebration.
BOARD Chair Jeff Gorell said he was excited to bring the item forward and that Ventura County Public Works is inviting community groups to the campus to highlight all things Public Works that keep community members safe and keep the community running smoothly every day.
“Ventura County considers our Public Works team and First Responders the finest,” he said. “Thank you, Director Greg, and the entire Public Works Team for its continued dedication to Public Service.”
Straka thanked the entire Board for the proclamation and said it’s exciting to share with them how we serve the community through our incredible Staff.
“This year’s American Public Works is riveted in service, and powered by the community,” he said. “It perfectly captures not just what we do, but it captures how we do it,” he said. “When I think about being a part of it, it’s the ability, sustainability, and the solid foundation we all depend on for our quality of life.”
