Ventura-- The featured cat at Cassie’s Cats and Kittens this month is Rachel, who is about 4.5 years old and loves going out on stroller rides.
RACHEL was abandoned at a Filmore animal hospital and somehow made her way to the Camarillo Animal Shelter.
The shelter contacted Cassie’s Cat’s Founder, Jennifer Thompson, and asked her to take Rachel to the lounge in August 2021.
“When she first came to us, she was very shut down and fearful,” Thompson said. “She didn’t want anyone to even touch her. She would hide and keep to herself.”
Rachel has become comfortable with her surroundings over the last few months and has learned that she can trust the people at Cassie’s Cats and Kittens.
“She’s a sweet, goofy, silly cat that, just like any other cat is a great companion,” Thompson said.
Rachel is a quirky cat, Thompson said, and when she plays, she has a habit of running past the toy she is chasing, skidding on the floor, and then doing a 180 and coming back to the toy.
