Roof Maintenance contract approval manages deferred maintenance

Oxnard--The Public Works and Transportation Committee approved a public project agreement with Best Contracting Services for on-call roofing maintenance and minor repair services during its Tuesday, March 26 meeting.

THE agreement does not exceed a total of $190,000 for a two-year maximum term.

Public Works Adminis­trative Services Manager Juanita Guzman presented the item and said the City of Oxnard has a number of contract service agreements for the repair and maintenance of various City buildings.

“Current agreements include services such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, elevator maintenance, industrial door repairs, pest control, and the inspection and repair of fire suppression systems and the inspection and repair of fire alarm systems,” she said. “These agreements provide regulatory compliance, technical expertise, as well as Staff support during periods of high demand or after-hour service.”

She said the City currently has two agreements with Best Contracting Services; one was issued July 12, 2022, for the facilities division, for on-call roofing services in the amount not exceeding $190,000, which expires July 11, 2024.

“The not-to-exceed limit has been reached, and a new on-call roofing services agreement is necessary,” she said.
