Camarillo-- The City Council, Wednesday, December 1, reorganized the city council and named Shawn Mulchay its Mayor.

HE body reorganizes once a year as city clerk Jeffrie Madland opened the floor for multiple nominations and vote on the nominations in the order they were received.
“If there’s only one nomination, then a motion to close the nominations will elect the nomination that’s on the floor,” she said.
Madland asked for nominations for the office of Mayor, and Shawn Mulchay was nominated, and that motion carried unanimously.
Council Member Susan Santangelo was nominated for Vice Mayor, and that motion passed unanimously.
Mulchay recognized outgoing Mayor Charlotte Craven and gave her a plaque praising her service.
“Mayor Craven, you have been Mayor eight times, and thank you very much for your leadership,” Mulchay said. “Thank you very much from a personal standpoint. As I was newly elected, you reached out to me and helped guide me, and showed me the landmines about what to expect as a city council member.
