Super Bloom returns In Oxnard

Oxnard—During his Tuesday, February 3, report to the City Coun­cil, City Manager Alex Nguyen said the City is, once again, experiencing a weed super bloom.

"THIS is due to many days of good rain this winter, and we will be chasing down the weeds as fast as we can,” he said. “Be vigilant and let us know by using the 311 app but be patient. We can only get to so much at a time.”

“It’s fun to see people pile into their cars to see the weeds in the hills, and they complain about the ones in Town, he said. “This is a good problem to have because we had good rain this year.”

Nguyen said the Finance Department recently re­ceived another certificate for Excellence in Finance Repor­ting. “It was presented by the Government Finance Officers Association, he said. “What an exciting group of people, who is led by their fearless leader, El Matador (Javier Chagoyen-Lázaro.)”

The City held an interesting meeting about the Whistleblower Program, which included some “interesting discussion.”

“That’s going to be on the agenda during the next Council meeting,” he said. “We’ll come full circle with that conversation.”
