Oxnard-- The Tip-ACop event, hosted by the Oxnard Police Department, returned to the city after a year shut down because of Covid-19 at Dominicks Italian Restaurant Monday, November 8, and Tuesday, November 9, at Yard House.

HE event is a fundraiser for the Special
Olympics, culminating with the 35th Anniversary Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The Police Department Staff donned their aprons, grabbed their server pads, took orders, and delivered dinners to hungry patrons.
The group also had commemorative clothing and SWAG items on sale for people who wanted to walk away with a prize that helps people participating in the Special Olympics.
Senior Officer Mike Wood is Team Captain for Team Oxnard PD for the Special Olympics, and they are partnering up with the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
“We haven’t done this for two years,” he said. “Now we’re coming back out. We were going to try and do a virtual one (Torch Run) with all the other Ventura agencies, but we opted to do a modified run Thursday, November 18. It’s going to be from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m., over in Kimball Park in Ventura. It will be from Kimball Park to the government center and back.…
