Helping People pledge to the community continues at the Oxnard
Eagles Lodge 232
Sunday, October 31, as the group hosted a Trunk or Treat event and delivered candy to local community members.
The event featured plenty of food and fun for kids ages 2 to 10, followed by a Cakewalk in the community room.
Eagles Member Sherry said she was having a great time and looking forward to scaring the children.
“I’m going to be inside my costume handing out the candies,” she said. “The kids that come the closest get the best candies. I have M&Ms and Snickers Bars.”
She loves being involved with the community and being part of People helping People.
“We have the Christmas Party in the Beak that comes every month,” she said. “I expect to scare some kids tonight, especially mine.”
Charity Saraceni came dressed as a witch and said she does cosplay.
“It’s one of the things I l like to do,” she said. “I like to come out and decorate a pretty little tea party for witches.”
She had no intention of scaring anyone.
