Channel Islands—The Concerts by the Sea welcomed August on Saturday, August 1, with an amazing performance by Unkle Monkey.
UNKLE Monkey delighted the Harbor crowd with music from around the world and original songs. At the Saturday show, the classic Nancy Sinatra song, “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” brought the delighted crowd to its feet.
Band Leader Steve Stafford loves coming to play at the Harbor.
“We have a bunch of new songs, and we have a new CD,” he said. “We also have songs on the internet, and we played a bunch of new songs today.”
Steve makes sure the band is always expanding, and said they play from Orange County to San Francisco.
“We also get out to Las Vegas,” he said. “We’re also on the internet.”
Steve runs the set list, and he always adds original songs.
After a show, during his 90-minute drive home, he tunes in to something light.
“I listen to jazz,” he said.
Singer Hanala said that “New Orleans” got everyone dancing.
“That’s a great dance song,” she said. “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ gets the crowd dancing.”
“I come up with them all the time,” Stafford said about originals.…
