Oxnard—The Community Services, Public Safety, & Economic Development Committee, Tuesday, October 28, approved a Closest Resource Automatic Aid Agreement between Oxnard and the City of Ventura Fire Departments, and the Ventura County Fire Protection District.
Fire Chief Alex Hamilton presented the agreement and said the Oxnard Fire Department responds to emergencies and non-emergency incidents under an informal Closest Resource Agreement with the City of Oxnard and the City of Ventura Fire Departments, and the Ventura County Fire Protection District.
“The informal agreement allows the geographically closest appropriate Fire Department Resource(s) to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, for service County-wide, regardless of jurisdictional boundaries, ensuring the highest level of service throughout Ventura County,” he said.
The Oxnard and Ventura Fire Departments, and the Ventura Fire Protection Districts, seek to memorialize and formalize the Dispatching of the Closest Resource Automatic Aid Agreement between the City of Ventura Fire Department and the Ventura County Fire Protection Districts.
