Oxnard--The City Council unanimously approved an agreement with Toro Enterprises Inc. to resurface alleys, part of the Fremont North Alley Restoration Project.
PUBLIC Works Department Project Construction Manager Jessica Baca presented the item, which authorizes $4.593 million in project funds for Fremont North and has a $389,184 contingency (10 percent), which limits the total expenditure to $4.281 million.
The project includes $311,184 (eight percent) for engineering, inspection, survey, and project management. The total amount of the contract will be appropriated from 12 Alleyways Project C211 to the Citywide Alley Resurfacing Project C2102 within the general fund for $165,368 and $420 million from the Measure O fund.
“On May 18, 2021, the Council had considered a staff report regarding the pavement management program within the City, and the project included the resurfacing of street movements at various alleyways throughout the City of Oxnard,” Baca said. “The Fremont North Neighborhood Alleyway reconstruction project was observed with existing pavement surfaces and overall poor conditions with notable alligator cracking, rutting, patches, and raveling of poor conditions.”
