Amended RiverPark Plan approved

Oxnard-- The city council, Tuesday, March 15, approved RiverPark specific plan amendment and Fore Property Development Agreement Amendments to the project.

The extended discussion brought a motion forward that was amended multiple times with plenty of confusion.

Assistant City Attorney Jason Zaragoza sorted the motion out for the council so they could vote on the amended motion.

“A recommendation of approval of option one, with the following language added to the development agreements,” he said. “For the sixth amendment for the development agreement regarding RiverPark, that would read section six. Right now, it consists of five sections, so section six, the selection of local contractors in order to promote and maximize the employment of the City of Oxnard and Ventura County residents on the project allowed by law to make a good faith effort to achieve a goal of at least 35 percent subcontractors performing contract work be primarily located in Ventura County. As to the second amendment to the development agreement for the Fore Property, it would read section seven, the selection of local subcontractors and then the same language.”

The 702-acre project is located at the northwestern edge of Oxnard and is bounded by the Ventura Freeway…
