Oxnard—During its Tuesday, June 11 meeting, the Finance and Governance Committee unanimously approved a third amendment with Aten Design Group for website strategy, design, and development on-call services.
The agreement adds $105,000 to the contract amount and extends the term to June 30, 2026, at a cost not exceeding $421,140.
Communications Manager Katie Casey presented the agreement and said the City of Oxnard has a new website design, which started with a request for qualifications in June 2022.
“We then hired Aten Design Group to design and launch the new website,” she said. “While we were going through the process, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1637 into law, which requires all Cities and Counties to transition their public-facing websites to the .gov domain by January 1, 2029.”
She said the City used the opportunity while designing its new site to meet the government mandate and secure oxnard.gov as its URL when its website went live.
In May, she noted the City of Oxnard launched its new site, replacing the obsolete oxnard.org website. The new site features a modern, easy-to-navigate design that meets current ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and web content accessibility guideline standards.
