Oxnard—On Tuesday, August 15, the Planning Commission received an update on the projects under development and construction.
Associate Planner Serena Gonzalez presented the update, including major development projects, and noted that the information shared is approximate and any timeline is an estimate.
“Oxnard is currently experiencing substantial growth,” she said. “There are approximately 1,631 residential units under construction at this time, and they are scattered throughout the City. We have some in the coastal areas, a few in South Oxnard, central, near Oxnard Boulevard, and in the North at Riverpark.”
She said approximately 631 units are for sale, and approximately 1,000 will be rentals.
“Something exciting is that out of these under-construction units, about 43 percent of them will be offered at an affordable rate, which is great considering we are in a housing crisis and we’re trying to push for more housing,” she said.
North Shore at Mandalay Bay, located at Harbor Boulevard and Fifth Street, consists of 183 single-family residences and 109 detached condominiums.
“This project also includes open space common areas and a public bike and walking path,” she said. “Grading is underway currently, and the estimated date of completion is to be determined.”
