Oxnard—During its Tuesday, November 26 meeting, the Public Works & Transportation Committee approved an agreement with Blackpointe Group Construction for minor fencing repairs.
The agreement will not exceed $600,000 for a two-year agreement to provide on-call minor fencing repair services.
Special Districts Manager Anthony Miller presented the item and noted the Public Works Department oversees and manages streets, facilities, public rights of ways, Landscape Maintenance Districts, Community Facilities Districts, and Waterway Districts throughout Oxnard.
“Designed services covered by the General Fund, utilities, and special districts where various types of maintenance for fencing is required for safety and aesthetic purposes,” he said.
The Staff receives reports of damaged, vandalized, and deteriorating fencing throughout the year, and he said the minor fencing repair agreement allows the Public Works Department to be responsive to community needs.
“This work, tentatively scheduled to begin in December 2024, as long as there are no supply chain issues or unforeseen weather issues,” Miller said.
The notice inviting formal project bids was sent out on August 29 and was due on October 8. The City received two bids from Blackpointe and the Fence Factory. Blackpointe bid $643.50 and the Fence Company bid $2,385.
