British Car Show Royal Fun

Channel Islands—Cars from across the pond, along with a sea of classic rides, bagpipe music, and plenty of great food, dogs, and babies, highlighted the Central Coast British Car Club Show, Sunday, 21.

THE Harbor Lawn was full of MGs, Jaguars, Triumphs, Austin-Healeys, and plenty more.

Mike Reynoldds has been with the Gold Coast Pipe Band for 30 years.

“I love the sound,” he said. “I lived next door to a man who played the bagpipes; we listened to him practice out on the street. One day, he stopped me and asked me if I’d be interested in learning how to play.”

Every band member found someone to teach them, he said, and you ned an instructor.

“It’s not an instrument you can teach to yourself,” he said.

Eric is the newest band member, Mike said, and has a few performances under his belt.

“We’ve had other people here since the beginning; we’re always adding new people,” Mike said.

 

Band members wear a kilt when they perform.

“We know where to get them,” he said.
