Oxnard—The City Council, Tuesday, June 2, held a public hearing for the proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 26-27 Budget.
Assistant Chief Financial Officer Thomas Lid presented the Budget, and he said the Council and Housing Authority give the Staff direction about making any adjustments.
The Budget will be adopted on June 16, 2026.
“The revenue and expenditures approved by the City Council at the Budget Adoption in June are for the following (FY) starting on July 1,” he said. “The Adopted Budget, plus approved amendments during the FY, and any City Administers adjustments for the carryover of unpaid Budgets from prior years.”
Resolutions included within the Budget item include the details of what type of expenditures are eligible for carryover, and he said include unspent Capital Improvement Project (CIP) balances, and multi-year project unspent balances.
“The revenue and expenditures recommended by the City Manager to City Council for Budget adoption at their meeting in June is for the following fiscal budget year, starting July 1,” he said. “The amount of money held in a fund that is available to be committed to a new expenditure= Council reserve + one-time available fund balance.”
