Oxnard--The Finance & Governance Committee unanimously approved the acquisition and implementation of budgeting software on Tuesday, September 26.
The agreement with OpenGov Inc. is for OpenGov Budgeting & Planning Software and OpenGov Reporting & Transparency Software and does not exceed $771,493.
The agreement includes a $60,110 budget appropriation from the Information Technology Fund balance.
Chief Financial Officer Javier Chagoyen-Lazaro presented the item and said Oxnard engaged a new Enterprise Resource Planning system, called (ERP) in October 2019, with Tyler Technologies to replace the existing Software and manual processes.
“The new ERP system will support centralizing and collecting data as well as automating certain city business processes and operations in finances, Human Capital Management, Time and Attendance, Community Development, Asset Maintenance, and Utility Billing,” he said.
Financials was the first area to go live in October 2022, he said, and Core Financials, as the model is called, provides automatic control and electronic workflow approvals for purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, project management, financial reporting, cash sharing, and fixed asset accounting.
