Campus Park moves forward

Oxnard—The City Council, during its Tuesday, November 19 meeting, approved a contract amendment and budget appropriation for design activities for the Campus Park activation project.

The third amendment to the project with Moore, Goltsman Incorporated is for $180,325, not exceeding $1.282 million, to perform landscape architecture and design services and authorizes a $65,000 budget appropriation and corresponding appropriation in the Capital Outlay Fund.

Senior Construction Project Manager Jennie Ibanez presented the item and said the Campus Park Activation Project is located at the former Oxnard High School site on 33 acres of land and is a five-year project to provide Oxnard’s diverse community with a variety of passive amenities.

“The first major funding milestone was $8.5 million from the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program (SPP) Grant Funds for the Campus Park Activation Project, and on February 20, the City was awarded the full $8.5 million,” she said. “The City sought a consultant team to provide the activation project’s landscape architecture and engineering design services.”

She said the City conducted public outreach, including a cost analysis and engineering design, and prepared plans and specifications for the proposed improvements.
