Ventura-- As Ventura County welcomes 2022, the gang at Cassie’s Cats is ready to match families with a warm, furry, lovable Cat or Kitten in a forever home.
The Cat Lounge is a busy place, full of playful Cats, while others seemed content to sit on visitors’ laps and be their best friend.
Founder and Board President Jennifer Thompson said the year might be young, but she said they’ve gotten a couple of adoption applications already.
“People are still looking to add new love and companionship to their homes,” she said. “We have a pair of Cats that are eight years old; we’ve had them for six months, and they have a great application pending. Their new owners got snowed in over the holidays, so we’re just waiting for them to dig their way out, and they’ll be down.”
She said the center had quite a few December adoptions, but they try to avoid impulse adoptions.
“There is no reason why you can’t adopt a Cat in January,” she said. “We are often getting emails and phone calls saying, can you take in this Cat and these Kittens, so the need is always out there. We have 16 Cats…
