Channel Islands--Chabad of Oxnard meets its goal daily at Channel Islands Harbor and serves as a focal point anchored in its Jewish faith.
THE Jewish Center is a family of people who gather, pray, learn, and educate young minds who develop into outstanding community members.
Rabbi Dov Muchnik leads Chabad of Oxnard and ensures young Jewish minds develop into tomorrow’s citizens based on three life philosophies, “education, education, and education.”
“The Chabad Jewish Center of Oxnard is actually a community center, and we have programs for all ages, with all types of people from all types of backgrounds,” he said. “Today, Tuesday, is our mid-week learning center. From Monday through Friday, we have students throughout Ventura County, the Conejo Valley, and Santa Barbara, about 60 students from grades 1-12.”
He said they have multi-age classes that come in to study the Jewish faith and traditions. Classrooms on Tuesday afternoon had students learning the Talmud, which is full of Jewish folklore and tradition, and learning the entire Talmud takes about seven years, but at Chabad of Oxnard, students gain the skills to navigate the Talmud.
