Committee bylaws Amended

Oxnard —The City Council amended its Committee bylaws on Tuesday, April 1.

On the City Council, on No­vember 13, 2018, Assistant City Manager Eric Sonstagard adopt­ed the Ordinance and established five Committees: Finance & Gov­ernance, Public Works and Trans­portation, Public Safety, Housing & Economic Development, and Community Services.

On Tues, December 3, 2019, the Council adopted five Committees: Finance & Governance, Public Works & Transportation, Public Safety, Housing & Economic De­velopment, and Community Ser­vices.

He said Rule 15, resignation, was relocated from 13 of the cur­rent bylaws.

“Rule 16, adoption and amend­ment of rules and procedures, was relocated from section 14 of the current bylaws and was revised to include the requirement that upon adoption or amendment of the bylaws by the Planning Commission, the bylaws shall be presented to the City Council for adoption.

Following approval by the Planning Commission, he said the City Attorney’s Office received the by­laws. As a result of the re­view, the staff recommends some minor cleanups that conflict with legal require­ments, such as the Brown Act.
