Oxnard-- The South Oxnard Aquatics Community meeting number two came off without a hitch Monday, August 1, as residents filled the South Oxnard Community Center and offered valuable input.
Attendees heard a presentation from els/ then broke into groups with maps and devised a list of feedback for the Aquatic Center’s potential design.
The evening was hosted by Assistant City Manager Ashley Golden and Council Members Vianey Lopez and Gabrielle Basua, and all three were grateful to get the community’s valuable feedback and move forward to the grand opening and making the center a valuable part of the City.
Els/ President/CEO Clarence Mamuyac Jr. led off the presentation and said his Architectural firm was selected to design the Aquatic Center and got started in March.
He said the feedback from the first community workshop created a preferred idea for the Aquatic Center that residents will examine and offer further ideas.
“We’ll have els/ employees at the table, and we’ll ask you to critique the document in front of you,” he said.
Els/ has been in the swimming business for a long time, he said, and love creating community-type projects.
