Oxnard-- The Community Meeting about the South Oxnard Aquatic Center continues with community input from Larry Stein, who asked where the saunas would go.
“Where will the wave pool go,” he said. “A lot of places have wave pools.”
Attendees heard a presentation from els/ about the design and then broke into groups and suggested input for the Aquatic Center’s potential design. The center has a projected summer 2025 grand opening date.
Stein talked about the outside access to the concession stands, so people could get a snack if they wanted one.
“Concession stands to the pool area are all inside,” he said. “If people want to get a snack, how will they get access to the concession stands without going into the pool area.”
“We need EV chargers because people will have electric cars,” he added. “How much shade will there be for the picnic areas? Another thing is locker rooms. We have men, women, girls, and boys. We should have at least four separate locker areas.”
He said heating might be necessary for the outside areas if the temperature drops in the walkthrough area.
Els/ President/CEO Clarence Mamuyac Jr. said a lot of the things that Stein mentioned…
