Council hears Election update

Ventura—The City Council, on Tuesday June 2, received an update from Derek Riser, Assistant City Clerk, about the November 3 General Election.

He was joined by Chief Financial Officer Greg Morley, and Riser said the November 3 General Election will be held in conjunction with the Statewide Gubernatorial Election.

“Voters will elect City Council members representing Districts 1, 4, 5, and 6,” he said. “Those elected will begin their terms on December 15, 2026, and will serve through December 2030.”

In addition, he said the ballot may include a revenue measure, if one is placed before the City Council.

“To support voter engagement and access to election information, the City maintains a dedicated elections web page on the City of Ventura’s website, which is www.cityofventura.ca.gov/Elections,” he said. “This web page serves as a centralized resource, and it includes the interactive district map, voter registration information, important election deadlines, and campaign disclosure filings submitted electronically for public review.”

The page will be updated regularly throughout the election cycle.
