Oxnard—The Tuesday, August 15, Planning Commission discussion about significant projects under construction continues with public comment from Oxnard resident and Realtor Nelson Mendez, who’s happy to see all the developments underway in Oxnard.
“I came today to address the Teal Club Road development, which I see is not on the agenda, but hopefully, when it does progress through the Planning Commission, It’s looked upon favorably,” he said. “Personally, I think we need more of this kind of development where we annex some of the vacant property that we have around Oxnard to make room for more development.”
He thinks Oxnard needs more housing and commercial development to boost the economy and stay competitive in the Southern California Landscape.
“I think we do have opportunities to annex in South Oxnard, maybe by Rice Avenue, with some of the vacant agricultural use lands and on the north side,” he said. “I hope that, in the future, the Planning Commission continues to look favorably on development and specifically annexing agricultural land that is really close to our City. I think to try annexes to increase our economy and stay competitive.”
