Oxnard-- The City of Oxnard’s free Spring Del Norte Dropoff Days drew a big crowd Saturday, April 9, as residents lined up and got rid of plenty of old junk while embracing the spirit of Spring cleaning.
THE city opened its recycle facility doors to all Oxnard residents that came with their utility bills or identification and guided them to helpful city employees who unloaded their vehicles. At the last event, 900 residents came to the facility using 1,300 vehicles.
The drop-off had four separate collection points inside the recycling center, including the E-Waste and mattress drop-off site, an overflow area where E-Waste and trash could be unloaded, the self-haul area with lots of workers, and the buyback area that’s open each Saturday.
The facility is operating as normal, and they still have normal services and collections vehicles that go out on Saturday.
Hazardous construction and demolition material was excluded from the list that residents could drop off, but residents with the items were redirected to the proper drop-off locations.
The crew came armed and ready to help as the group had personal protective equipment and exercised safety protocols.
