Oxnard—The Oxnard Performing Arts Center Corporation’s Fifth Annual dia de los Muertos event on Saturday, November 2, was a brilliant collection of altars honoring those who’ve passed on, along with music, dance, authentic costumes, plenty of merchandise, and food trucks to round out the evening.
ATTENDEES honored passed loved ones, who live in their hearts and guide them through each day.
Oxnard Performing Arts Center Corporation Director of Events and Programs Christian Ramirez said dia de los Muertos is actually November 2, which created a challenge that required some management.
“We’ve built such a good community here over the years that we have our supporters who come every year,” he said. “I’m honoring my Grandparents on my Dad’s side tonight, and they inspired me to keep my culture alive.”
Angela Whitecomb wrapped her City Council campaign and gave the Kids plenty of candy.

“We have someone here doing face painting and supporting the OPACC,” she said. “I’m trying to connect with the community.”
She loves all the Oxnard residents who talk about their hopes and dreams for the City.
