Oxnard—The Ho Ho Ho spirit was in full swing at the Eagles Holiday Market on Sunday, November 16.
THE event had table after table of great holiday items that will make anyone’s Holiday Season memorable.
The Fraternal Order of the Eagles’ motto, “People Helping People,” is reflected in the many fundraisers that benefit the community. Madame President Michele Two Coats said some of their many charities include cancer research, Diabetes awareness, victims of domestic violence, and kidney disease.
Susan Feliciano, with a group of happy teenagers, including her daughters, Genesis and Trinity Lucero, her boyfriend, Alfredo, and Steven Mendoza, was selling cookies and art.
“I brought cookies and muffins,” Genesis said. “Mom wasn’t home when I was cooking. I made my own batter for the cookies.”
Trinity made all the artwork for sale.
“The paintings and crocheted fish,” she said. “In the fifth grade, I read a book about artwork and Japanese Manga, and I was all over it. I was into horror as a kid, and did creepy drawings. I like showing off my artwork. I’m studying it in College, and it’s going to be my career one day.”
