Oxnard--The Oxnard Eagles Lodge continued its longstanding tradition of people helping people on Sunday, April 21, as its Autism Awareness Fundraiser breakfast featured all-you-can-eat pancakes and waffles, along with additional sides and plenty of coffee.
THE event drew a friendly crowd of breakfast lovers ready to enjoy the morning and support Autism Awareness. The Oxnard Police Department continued its support and brought its Autism Awareness vehicle as officers came away with a hearty breakfast.
Autism Awareness Fundraiser co-chair Rhonda Quintana wears a blue t-shirt for her nephew, who has Autism.
“It’s a home fundraiser, and all proceeds go to the Autism Society of Ventura County,” she said.
Eagle Johnny Gonzales cooked waffles, along with eggs, sausage, bacon ala carte, and toast, with his kitchen staff and had a great time.
“We all volunteer, so everybody took part of the shopping,” he said. “I’m in charge of all the batters and stuff. Rhonda took care of all the bacon, sausage, and eggs.”
