Oxnard--College Park was a hotbed of fun holiday activities on Saturday, March 23, as the Egg-Cessible Easter event brought out kids and parents who enjoyed the City’s treat to its residents.
CHILDREN participated in plenty of activities, including corn hole, egg carrying across the park lawn, arts and crafts, a ride on the City Corps Train, and plenty of photo ops with the Easter Bunny.
The event also featured a sensory tent for Oxnard’s Special Populations, so kids who felt overwhelmed could go and still be part of the fun.
The event culminated with the joyful chaos that goes with filling their Easter Baskets.
Cultural and Community Services Director Terrel Harrison said Egg-Cessible is about giving the community something to celebrate.
It’s the Easter season, the Spring, and bringing the community together to have something fun for all the kids,” he said. “We have something for our Special Populations in the barbeque area and something for the kids here. If some of the kids with the music and games become a little overwhelmed, we have our sensory tent for children, Moms, and Dads to calm down after all the excitement. We’re trying to make it Egg-Cessible for the public.”
