Fall Festival - Is a Diverse and Happy Event

Oxnard-- The Oxnard

Rec Department Fall Festival celebrated a fun day full of decorated pumpkins Sunday,

October 30, and kids that love carving Jack O

Lanterns. The kids dropped their entries at the small stage and won

that afternoon.

The event had many sponsors who came together to celebrate Oxnard all being together.

Cultural and Community Services Director Terrel Harrison said having the Inaugural Fall Festival at Plaza Park is awesome.

“We’re trying to expand services, and Halloween in the fall is being celebrated more and more in our community,” he said. “It’s nice, and we’re looking at growing and expanding.”

He said the day features a Cakewalk, costume contest, and art.

“There is good food and games,” he said. “Everything that means Fall Festival, Halloween included. We have a Day of the Dead event happening on the First of November, so it’s everything.”

 

He planned to participate in everything, especially the food.

“I was a small part of this,” he said. “The Recreation Team and Community Services team, including the library and the arts, took a lot of time putting this together. We have a talented staff, along with our volunteers. A whole host of people helped put…
