Farmers' Market offers Fresh Food and Gifts

Channel Islands-- Residents come to the Channel Islands Farmers’ Market on Sundays throughout the year and always walk away with the best and freshest food, unique clothing, and fun gifts that keep people coming back for more.

THAT held true again Sunday, February 26, as the Market was also a great community source for residents who like to shop together, visit, and pick up great items. The fresh, colorful vegetables are always a welcome backdrop to the day.

Susan Ross brought her Bulldog Darla to the Market and served as the unofficial greeter for people entering the event.

“We’ve been coming here for more than 10 years,” Susan said. “We live close, and Darla loves it here. My Husband gets his fava beans here. That’s why we’re here. We’re on a mission for fava beans.”

Often, Susan said she’ll bring a stroller and take Darla through the Market.

“I like all the fruits and all the sprouts,” Susan said. “There’s a great guy over there with every flavor. If you don’t like broccoli, eat the sprouts because you can’t taste the sprouts.”

She said they didn’t want to miss the opportunity to enjoy a nice day in the sunshine.
