Fudi Town is a tasty event

Channel Islands--It was a treat for everyone at Channel Islands Saturday, March 26, as Fudi Town returned and drew a great crowd.

The free event featured two dozen food vendors serving up special treats for every palate, shopping, and a kid zone full of inflatable activities to enjoy.

Organizer Roy Lara dyed his hair to look like a cheetah and said everyone loved the style.

"I've seen a couple of pictures online with a few people wearing it, and I like the style," he said. "My mom is a hairstylist, so she bleached my hair, and my sister did the print. We went to a music festival yesterday, and I kept getting compliments on my hair every five to 10 minutes."

He said Fudi Town is a down-sized version of the 805 Night Market, which is coming up in June at Oxnard High School.

"The 805 Night Market we had last year was the first one we ever had, and we had over 20,000 people attend," he said. "We're doing it again this year for the second time."
