Oxnard--The City Council, Tuesday, January 16, approved a blanket purchase order with Granite Construction Company to purchase and deliver asphalt and aggregate materials.
Streets Division Manager Philip Schweider presented the purchase order, which has a total amount not to exceed $50,000 through June 30 and will bring the asphalt and aggregate materials to various City streets, alleyways, and parking lots.
“Vulcan Material Company and Granite Construction Company have been the leading vendors for asphalt used by the City of Oxnard for the last 25 years,” he said. “The Streets Department ran a request for bid (RFB) that closed March 6, 2023, for the purchase and delivery of asphalt and aggregate material totaling $1 million for a five-year term.”
He said the RFB led to a purchase order with Vulcan Materials Company for fiscal year 2023-2024 totaling $200,000 because Vulcan was not willing to commit to a signed five-year agreement.
