Grants Aid City of Ventura

Ventura—The City Council, on Tuesday, March 24, adopted its 2030-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Chief Financial Officer Greg Morley said that on April 28, the City will have a budget proposal, where they will take information from this meeting, along with meetings they have at the City Manager’s Office, and request spending.

“This requested spending, we’ll get it into a budget for April 28,” he said. “The City Charter says we have to propose the budget on or before May 1 of every year.”

The City Council adopted its 2030-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) after a lengthy presentation from groups like Main Street Moves and Ventura Water.

At that time, Morley said they’ll talk specifically about the General Fund, the Utility Funds, and Measure O Funds, Capital Funds, and then have a summary of other funds.

“On June 9, we’re going to have a public hearing for the adoption of the FY 2027 Operating and Capital Improvement Budget,” he said. “In between, during May, we’ll have a third Budget Workshop here to talk about what changes have occurred from the proposed budget and what we’re going to be looking at moving into the June 9, recommended budget.”
