Happy Birthday AMERICA CONCERT CELEBRATES FREEDOM

Oxnard-- Plaza Park continues to be the center of special events in the city; the Happy Birthday America Concert, Sunday, July 3, was a Patriotic event that brought the community together as one.

THE event feat­ured the 40-Piece Gold Coast Wind Ensemble, free hot dogs, drinks, and lots of pride in America.

The celebration began early with shopping as local vendors were on hand before the show offering great choices for sale that local residents purchased.

Oxnard Elks Lodge 1443 provided residents free drinks and hot dogs. Tiler Julia Campos has been part of the organization for several years.

“The Elks Club has been doing this for many years,” she said about giving hot dogs to people on the Fourth of July. “Our person in charge is Jess Gonzales, and he makes sure that everything is provided year after year. He addresses the board, brings up what’s coming up, and this is part of what we do every year.”

 

She said the Elks Club always gives back to the community, and the group not only helps the underdog but anyone else who needs support.
