Oxnard—The Finance and Governance Committee, on Tuesday, October 28, approved its first amendment with Hireclout for professional Information Technology (IT) Recruitment.
Chief Information Officer (CIO) Rob Ruben presented the Hireclout agreement, noting that the deal extends its value to $1.350 million through June 30, 2027, for information technology contractor and recruitment services.
“Since August 2023, Hireclout has played a key role in assisting the City with the recruitment and placement of highly qualified IT professionals,” he said. “Recruiting IT talent continues to be one of the most significant workforce challenges nationwide.”
This shortage is particularly acute in the public sector, and he said that overall employee incentives, including telework, opportunities, and flexible schedules, lag behind those offered in private industry.
“Positions requiring advanced skills in cybersecurity, network infrastructure, and application support are especially difficult to fill, creating risks to operational continuity and slowing progress on critical technology initiatives,” he said. “The vendor’s services remain essential in helping the City identify, attract, and retain specialized IT personnel who can support daily operations and advanced long-term technology properties.”
