Holiday Celebration Engages Children

Oxnard-- The Oxnard Public Library celebrated Christmas with a special and interactive event Monday, December 19, as kids read books, made Holiday crafts, and enjoyed snacks throughout the afternoon.

THE celebration got kids and their parents working hand-in-hand on crafts while a couple of youngsters read aloud to everyone while snacking.

Children’s Librarian Vanesa Chua led the way and helped the kids read while making the event educational and fun.

Reading doesn’t just allow kids to know many things when they grow up; Vanesa said it motivates people to live engaged lives.

“The more you know, the better,” she said. “You can learn different stories and facts about anything, and it’s healthy. That’s why reading is lifelong.”

She believes that celebrating Christmas, books, and Kids is essential.

“They need a foundation to succeed in their life, and if you know how to read and write, you’re on your way to flying,” Chua said.

 

She’s all set for Christmas and said everyone receives so many blessings during the year.
