Port Hueneme—It was life, fun, music, vendors, and community groups coming together September 7-8, making The Hueneme Beach Festival a memorable event.
A big crowd took advantage of the sunny day, picked up plenty of important information about local life, enjoyed bands, did a little dancing, enjoyed the rides, and left the event with tired kids after a day of fun and great memories.
City of Port Hueneme Water General Manager Dennis Martinez and his crew were giving out some SWAG that highlights water conservation.
“We have shower timers; we have a five-minute shower timer that we’re giving out,” he said. “We’re trying to push water conservation; there’s a lot of new regulations coming down in the next few years, and we’re pushing how to conserve water.”
He noted the area is no longer in an emergency drought situation but that can change within a year.
“It’s very important we continue to conserve,” he said. “The Hueneme Beach Festival is great. We’ve had a great turnout.”
