Channel Islands—The Concerts by the Sea Series had a familiar face Saturday, May 16, as fan favorite, Ignition, picked up where it left off in 2024 and delivered a killer set of hit songs that spanned decades.
THE Band: Alex Cabrera - Lead vocals, Ian Heavyside - Guitar, Backing vocals, Wayne Rothstein - Bass, Backing vocals, Stephan Longo / Chris Torrey - Drums, and Jon Buxer - Keyboards, Backing vocals delivered a countless array of hits, like Brown Eyed Girl, and Brick House that got the crowd on its feet.
People were up dancing early, and it didn’t take long for the capacity crowd to fill the lawn.
Ian Heavyside plays guitar and offers backup vocals.
“We always love playing the Harbor,” he said. “There is always a great crowd.”
Ian grew up in England and said, “Carlos Santana changed everything for him.”
“That Latin Rhythm; I never heard anything like it,” he said. “It’s not my life, but my dad played, and we were always into music.”
He said disco music gets the crowd dancing.
