Ventura—Area residents with a sense of humor can explore their gifts at the Improv Workshop and have a great time.
THE Comics loosened up, shared successes, and reveled in the creative mind.
Jest Improv Co-Founder/Owner Alexander Tron started the Class in 2018 after a rough patch in his life.
“I was living in my car for a little while, and my life was tumultuous,” he said. “Improv helped me come back to the center. It’s a meditative practice for me.”
In 2018, when he started doing Improv, he met some folks, and Jest began from an existing Improv group with a positive environment.
While on Stage, his characters will have weird interactions in everyday life.
“You start to say things people say to you,” he said. “You say it on Stage, people will laugh, and it occurs to you that people you see and happen to you are funny.”
He said Comedians see the Funny, capture it, and then share it.

“Everybody’s had a weird boss, but how can we effectively play that boss on Stage and do Scenes with that weird boss in different ways?” he said. “That’s what Improve is all about.”
