Improvements coming in 2025

Ventura—During his Tuesday, Dec. 10 report to the City Council, City Manager Bill Auyub reminded everyone the City is on a Red Flag warning until 2 p.m. Dec. 11.

“There will be power shutoffs, updated and available at sce.com/psps,” he said. “If you come across fallen trees or large branches, call 805-667-6519 to report this, and we’ll have them removed as quickly as possible; 911 is available for downed power lines and other emergencies.”

He advised signing up for VC Alert and said residents can stay updated at vcalert.com.

Auyub said Surfer’s Point Phase II is in full swing, which means updating the parking lot and more.

“There are more details at cityofventura.ca.gov/SurfersPoint,” he said. “The project of a global model for coastal erosion protection and build upon phase I’s success, completed in 2012. Weather completed, the project should be completed by summer 2025.”

He noted the Ventura County Fairgrounds has temporary paid parking at its main lot, and access will be maintained during construction for people who want to walk or ride a bicycle.
