Library bookstore: A hidden treasure

Oxnard—Christmas is right around the corner, and savvy shoppers can pick up great Christmas items to place under the tree or for Channukah and help the Oxnard Public Library at its Bookstore.

THE Bookstore has a bevy of great gift ideas, including toys, art, clothes, pocketbooks, and, of course, lots of reasonably priced books for sale.

There are also classic toys, like Slinkies, Paddleballs, Dragons, and much more.

Money from the Bookstore gets reinvested into the Library to help further its mission of being a valuable community resource.

New Volunteer Yvonne McCarthy just moved to the area and has a lifelong love of reading and books.

“I thought this would be a fantastic way to help the community and meet people, and it has,” she said. “This Library is beautiful and amazing. The Staff does things like the Monarch Display, and they’re doing a native garden with a local group. The Librarians are a wonderful resource for so many things besides books.”

 

Yvonne is drawn to the vast array of used books for sale, which are nicely priced.

“Buying a book is fun, and when you’re done reading it up, you can always donate it back to the Library,”…
