McArthur elected Oxnard Mayor

Oxnard—The 2024 Oxnard City Elections are in the books, and Oxnard Police Department Commander Luis McArthur won his election.

The unofficial results show the Mayor-Elect received 14,322 votes, 42.43 percent, and defeated Mayor Pro Tem Bryan MacDonald and tallied 11,353 votes, or 33.63 percent.

Karla Alejandra Zamora finished third with 4,076 votes, 12.07 percent of the vote.

Rafael M. Hernandez received 3,808 votes, 2..36 percent, 9.12 percent, and 3,080. Al Velasquez received 926 votes and 2.74 percent of the electorate.

City Council
District Three

Aaron Starr unseated incumbent Oscar Madigral in District Three with 2,736 votes. Fernando Lopez finished second with 583 votes, Madrigal finished third with 583 votes, and Victor Rasmussen received 364 votes.

District Four

Gabriela Rodriguez won the District Four Seat with 1,857 votes, followed by Angela Whitecomb with 1,051 votes, Veronica Robles Solis with 926 votes, Efrain Jimenez II with 349 votes and Daniel Chavez Junior with 270 votes.

District Six

Michaela Perez defeated incumbent Arthur ‘AJ’ Valenzuela Jr. with a 1997-1562 margin.

City Clerk

Luly Lopez edged out Rose Chaparo 14,428-13,379, with Daisy Sampablo finishing third with 3,515 votes.

City Treasurer

Incumbent Phillip Molina defeated write-in candidate Manuel Hererra and received 27,502 votes.
