The Oxnard Recreation Department held a Meet Up/Clean Up event on Sunday, January 28 at College Estates Park.
THE beautification program has been established by the Oxnard Department of Parks & Recreation and the City Corps.
Among those in attendance were Members from the Oxnard Peace Officers Association (OPOA). They included two South District storefront officers, part of the Neighborhood Policing Division, who have established relationships with residents and business owners in the area.
According to Mike Wood, secretary of the organization, the clean-ups have increased cleanliness of the park and encouraged residents to utilize the park to walk and exercise.
“This is one of the many ways the OPOA interacts with the community as our members are passionate for those they serve,” he said.
The next Meet Up/Clean Up event will take place at Pleasant Valley Park on Feb 11, 2023. Anyone interested in volunteering can call (805) 572-5907.
