More testing ensures continued quality

Ventura—The Fire Debris story concludes with Supervisor Kelly Long saying there was not a large air quality difference from 2024 to 2025.

Waste Management Supervisor Mark Grady said the charts shown provide a comparison only.

“If there is, we’ll update the board and the public,” he said. “Also, we do an annual inspection of the facility, and the recent annual inspection was conducted on March 27, 2025, where we address any dust quality generation and air quality complaints, and we are actively conducting drive-by inspections at the ongoing landfill activities.”

“This area is important for air quality, even without truck routes, because of the geography, how the wind goes through, and the pollutants,” Long said.

Janice Parvin said the Regional Quality Board had many questions about the liner at the landfill, and she mentioned there is an engineer at the waste management site.

“It’s not just the liner, but a different liner for the sides, and we spent a great deal of time talking about the clay mixture you use,” she said. “I didn’t even know you used clay.”
