Channel Islands—With its trademark roar, the Ponies by the Sea Car Show, along with the vast collection of Mustangs, rolled into Harbor View Park Sunday, October 12.
THE annual event featured decades’ worth of history, from Classics from the ‘60s and Mustang IIs from the ‘80s to street rods like Shelbys and electric Mustangs.
The show featured plenty of typical car attributes, including friendly car owners willing to shake hands and share the history of their ride.
Ray Edward is a lifelong Mustang fan from Riverside, all the way to the Mustang patch on his leg.
“I used it to patch a hole,” he said. “I have two Mustangs, but I just brought my ‘85 Fox Body today. I go by my nickname, Stang Ray. My other Mustang is a Shelby, but this one is my favorite.”
He said the 85 was his wife of 44 years’ driver.
“The car is 100 percent original, white original paint,” he said. “I’ve touched up a few chips. I dropped my garage door on it and had to fix it.”

Ray originally paid $10,000, and then made upgrades.
