Oxnard—The City Council adopted a resolution at its Tuesday, September 3, meeting to execute a third amendment of the employment agreement (No. A-8087) between the City and City Manager Alexander Nguyen and provide a 10 percent ($31,920) salary increase.
The action also executed a fourth amendment of the employment agreement (No. A-7880) between the City and City Attorney Stephen Fischer, providing a 10 percent ($27,337) salary increase and extending the contract term by two years until July 8, 2029.
During Public Comments, Steve Nash said he’s served on many commissions, committees, and citizen groups and noted in 2010, the City of Oxnard was in dire straights.
“I felt so bad that I had to get involved,” he said. “I know my involvement didn’t solve the issues; Mr. Nguyen and his staff have solved many of our issues.”
He recalled the City’s financial mess as it had 151-153 findings from its internal auditor, which have been eliminated.
