Oxnard--The Community Services, Public Safety, Housing & Administration received a 311 performance update during its Tuesday, January 23 meeting.
OXNARD 311 is a free mobile app that allows people to report on a variety of different issues covering 20 different request categories: graffiti, illegal dumping, animal safety issues, missing street signs, and abandoned vehicles.
Chief Administrator Rob Rubin presented the update and said the City of Oxnard launched 311 in May 2016, and since then, over 150,000 requests have been submitted.
He said there have been 18,316 downloads available on Apple IOS and Google Android mobile devices across 17 languages.
“There was a pretty flat growth of the app download for the first five years, about 2,000 downloads per year, and a pretty sharp increase for years six and seven with over 3,000 requests for downloads per year,” he said. “This year, for the first half of year eight, we’re trending again in the 3,000 range per year.”

He said service requests increased steadily each year, and in years six and seven are flat, and year eight is trending towards around 30,000, a 16% increase over year seven.
